RIGHTS AND PATIENT RIGHTS

 

 

   A right can be expressed as a legally protected interest. Patient Rights refer to the rights of individuals who need to benefit from health services, just because they are human, and which are guaranteed by the Turkish Constitution, international treaties, laws and other legislation.

 

PURPOSE OF FOUNDATION OF OUR PATIENT RIGHTS UNIT

It is to prevent violations of patient rights and the problems that may arise due to them, to increase the quality of health services, to provide health services in a way that suits human dignity, to protect patients from violations of rights and to enable them to actually use legal protection when necessary. To this end, our unit is to act as a mediator between the patient-employee and the institution.

When you apply to a Health Institution for Health Care;

 

YOUR RIGHTS

1) The right to benefit from the service in general:

Everyone who receives or wants to receive treatment services should benefit from health services within the framework of the principles of justice and equity; It has the right to receive service regardless of race, language, religion and sect, gender, philosophical belief, economic and social status.


2) The right to inform and request information:

Everyone who receives or wants to receive treatment has the right to learn about the health services and available opportunities related to their treatment and to request all kinds of information about their health status, verbally or in writing.

 

3) The right to choose and change the health institution and its personnel:

He has the right to choose and change the health institution and to benefit from the health services provided in the selected health facility, to learn the identities, duties and titles of the doctors and other health workers who will provide/provide health services.

 

4) Privacy:

He has the right to receive all kinds of health services in an environment suitable for confidentiality and not to reveal the information about the treatment.


5) Refusing, stopping and consenting to treatment:

He has the right to refuse the treatment, to ask for it to be stopped, to obtain his consent in medical interventions and to benefit from the service within the framework of his consent.


6) Security:

They have the right to receive health care in a safe environment.


7) To be able to fulfill religious duties:

The health facility has the right to fulfill its religious obligations within the limits of its possibilities and within the framework of the measures taken by the administration.


8) The right to respect for human values, dignity and comfort

Everyone has the right to receive health services by being respectful and courteous, by showing care and attention, by providing all kinds of hygienic conditions and removing all noisy and disturbing factors.

 

9) The right to visit and have a companion:

It has the right to accept visitors within the framework of the procedures and principles determined by the health facilities and to have a companion within the limits of the legislation and the possibilities of the health facility and if the physician deems it appropriate.


10) Right of application, complaint and lawsuit:

In case of violation of rights, they have the right to use all kinds of applications, complaints and lawsuits within the framework of the legislation.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES


1. General Responsibilities

a.  People should do their best to take care of their own health and follow the advice given for a healthy life.

b. The person can donate blood or donate organs, if appropriate.

     c. In simple cases, people have to take care of themselves.

 

2. Social Security Status

a. Patient; has to notify changes in health, social security and personal information in a timely manner.

b. Patient; health card (Bag-Kur, Green Card, etc.) has to get the visa on time.

 

3. Informing Healthcare Professionals

Patient; He should give full and complete information about his complaints, previous illnesses, whether he has received any inpatient treatment, the drugs he is currently using, and all his health.

 

4.  Compliance with Hospital Rules

a. Patient; should comply with the rules and practices of the health institution to which they apply.

b. The patient must comply with the referral chain determined by the Ministry of Health and other social security institutions.

c. The patient; It is expected to cooperate with health professionals during the treatment, care and rehabilitation process.

D. Patient; If he is using a health facility that provides service by appointment, he must comply with the date and time of the appointment and notify the relevant place of the changes.

to. Patient; respect the rights of hospital staff, other patients and visitors.

f. Patient; have to pay for the damage caused to the hospital equipment.

 

5.  Compliance with Recommendations Regarding Treatment

a. Patient; He should listen carefully to the advice about treatment and medication and ask about the places he does not understand.

b.  The patient; In case of inability to comply with the recommendations regarding the treatment, the health worker should be informed.

c. The patient should indicate whether he/she understands the health care and post-discharge care plan correctly as expected.

D. Patient; He is responsible for the consequences that may arise due to refusing the treatment to be applied or not complying with the recommendations.
